Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: Is Nobara Dead? – Explained

One of the most recent characters from Jujutsu Kaisen who may go to the afterlife with Nanami is Kugisaki Nobara. Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen say farewell to Nanami, a beloved character from the anime, in episode 18, when Mahito’s Idle Transfiguration killed her.

Sadly, it appears that another character may have perished in the most recent episode (episode 19), and Mahito, the special-grade curse, is once more the likely cause. Nobara Kugisaki and Mahito resume their struggle in episode 19, with Mahito attempting to harm this obnoxious cursed spirit.

She discovers Mahito is a clone and cannot employ Idle Transfiguration when she applies her “Resonance” cursed technique to him. This duplicate rushes towards the original Mahito, seeing it has been surpassed. They replace each other as they are ready to combine, and the original Mahito is now pursuing Nobara.

The original Mahito can touch Nobara’s face, triggering his Idle Transfiguration, despite Itadori’s shout for him to go. Subsequently, we detect a splash while Nobara is still on the ground.

Has Nobara Kugisaki Died?

To cut a long tale short, nobody knows the answer to this query. Nobara’s body did not transform into a transfigured human and burst as Nanami’s did when she was struck by Mahito’s Idle Transfiguration.

Instead, this barely affected a portion of her face. indicating that her transformation from idle to transformed wasn’t total. Her current condition is comparable to that of Megumi after he was struck by Mahoraga; she is in “a suspended death” state and requires emergency medical assistance.

The Future of Kugisaki Nobara (SPOILERS!)

Itadori’s thoughts stopped when she was struck by Mahito’s cursed method; he is currently experiencing a total mental breakdown. Thankfully, Todo shows up to save him from his collapse. Arata Nitta, a novice jujutsu sorcerer with a focus on “Reverse Cursed Technique,” is going with him.

He tries to treat Nobara right away, but he is only able to halt Mahito’s Idle Transfiguration from spreading because of her terrible injuries. Despite being an expert in the “Reverse Cursed Technique,” Arata is still a first-year student. Right now, Nobara needs someone skilled in this method, someone like Okkutsu or Shoko.

Arata takes Nobara with him to safety after leaving Aoi behind, without guaranteeing her life. In chapter 144 of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, Nobara was last referenced. Yuji Itadori questions Megumi about what occurred to Nobara at the Culling Games. Megumi seems worried but doesn’t say anything.

Nobara has not reappeared as of the most recent chapter (chapter 244), therefore her survival is still up in the air. It is important to note that Akutami Gege, the author of Jujutsu Kaisen, stated in an interview that either one person would die among the Gojo and first years, or everyone would die save for one person.

It appears that viewers will be treated to a considerably darker series finale given the uncertainty surrounding Megumi, Nobara, and Gojo’s whereabouts. What do you think about this?
