Today’s latest about One Piece Chapter 1107 One of One Piece’s greatest storylines, Egghead strikes the ideal balance of spectacle, comedy, and poignant moments. Things are getting worse fast now that my tears for Kuma are beginning to dry up. The giants are here, the Blackbeard Pirates are still up to their tricks, and Luffy is giving Saturn the runaround!

Oda wanders around the problem, as usual. As the Giant Pirates join the battle, readers are given a succinct summary of their previous involvement in the narrative, along with an outstanding introduction to them. The majority of the remainder of the crew, who generally engage in banter on this issue, are attempting to maintain order. Jinbe tries to get everyone on schedule, Brook doesn’t see the seriousness of their predicament, and Zoro speaks trash. All of them are little, unremarkable moments, but they make for hilarious little asides and are, of course, fragments of a larger, more meaningful scene.

The battle involving Saturn, Borsalino, Luffy, and Bonney is the focal point of this chapter. As Luffy and Saturn eventually butt heads and Bonney comes to terms with who Luffy is, he remains the funniest shonen protagonist. As all of this is going on, Borsalino throws himself back into the fight, only to be met with a counter that has one of the finest reaction faces in the whole series. The chapter’s middle section is an enjoyable scene in its entirety. Oda’s artwork skillfully frames Luffy’s newfound talent while advancing the action naturally. The action moves along at a good clip despite the panels’ abundance of detail.

Even while this is a pleasant chapter, there are a few unanswered questions, particularly about a Sanji move. While I acknowledge that this is One Piece and that absurd things sometimes occur, it would be interesting to see Oda elaborate on Sanji’s achievement at some point. This chapter’s explanation doesn’t feel like it makes sense; something else seems to be going on.

The eleventh chapter of One Piece is entertaining even with this one question mark. Egghead Island seems to be building toward its climax, and it’s going to be amazing.
