4) Wakatoshi Ushijima

Only Wakatoshi Ushijima, one of the high school volleyball players featured in Haikyuu!!, has represented Japan in the U-19 Championship on the national squad. Thus, it should come as no surprise that he is one of the Haikyuu!! characters to eventually turn pro.


Following his high school graduation, Ushijima signs with Schweiden Adlers, a Division 1 professional team in the V. League, where he ultimately teams up with Kageyama. Later, he relocated to Poland to play volleyball professionally with Orzel Warszawa, and he represented Japan’s national volleyball team in the 2021 Olympics.
